Nicole and Oren – 15 December 2012 – Rockhaven, Elgin
From the beginning I knew this was going to be a special wedding….. Nicole was incredibly hands on. She had amazing ideas and living in the UK, had access to so many beautiful décor elements that are simply not available here in South Africa…or they could be made, but at a cost. The look and feel for this wedding was fun and whimsical with elements of rustic and vintage all fusing into one. The use of paper décor played a huge role with paper garlands hung on the wall behind the main table, paper doilie lanterns and honeycomb balls hung above the table and combined with crystal chandeliers. In short, it looked amazing! The entire family were also involved with some of the décor elements, the Bride and her sister made all the stationery and the Bride’s mom made the ‘Bride and Groom’ snow globe shakers for the guests. And to complete the look, an absolutely incredible live garden bar!!!
One would think that being a wedding in the middle of December the weather would play it’s part in making the day even more spectacular? In this case the weather decided to throw us a bit of a curve ball. It was THAT day in December when it poured with rain, actually it hailed and the wind blew at gale force! It caused havoc with a few elements of our outdoor wedding, not saying we weren’t prepared for the weather, we always are, but it was a pity we had to move and rearrange certain aspects to accommodate and ensure the comfort of guests.
All in all this was a great wedding and the guests had a great time. It was definitely a treat working outside of “town” as we had the chance to work with suppliers whom we wouldn’t normally work with….In this case we found a real gem, Nadia and her team from 4Every event. They were amazing and I am looking forward to working with them again in the very near future.
